Capacity Building in Akkar

SALAR International, in collaboration with Rene Moawad Foundation (R.M.F.), initiated a customized capacity building plan for Jurd Al-Qayteh and Dreib Al-Awsat union of municipalities and selected the implemention partners.

The institutional capacity building included different topics: municipal legal framework, financial management in municipalities, municipal administration, bylaws, and internal codes for municipalities and the union of municipalities. It also tackled the improved knowledge on tax collection, increased revenues and financial reporting.

Booklets including all the materials were delivered to all the municipalities under the union to be used as a reference.

 

Outcome: Capacity-building improved the practices of municipalities and the union of municipalities, which eventually contributed to better management and communication with refugees and the local community living in Dreib Al-Awsat and Jurd Al-Qayteh.
