With a lack of accurate data in most municipalities, SALAR International launched a data collection app at the union of municipalities of Dreib Al-Awsat and Jurd Al-Qayteh.
Volunteers were trained to use the the data collection app that was built by the Geographic Information System (GIS) at Balamand University and deployed under their technical management. Training included a good grasp of relevant questions, and was carried out with respect to the coronavirus safety practices.
The application comprised several questions that were previously shared with the municipalities, including questions about the situation of the house (the general situation, electricity, water, sewage). The app also gathered information about family members, expat members, their education, social status, health status, and more.
The data validation and analysis was finalized for 12 municipalities in Jurd Al-Qayteh and 11 in Dreib Al-Awsat . The municipalities were thus able to use the available data to build on for future projects
